
Over 20,000 people attended this year’s bonfire fireworks display at Aykley heads in Durham City the biggest attendance in the events history.
Executive catering provided a spit roast food station for people attending the event from 5pm until 9pm, below is a short article from the night.

The annual Guy fawkes celebrations kicked off at 5pm with entertainment from last years x factor contestant Jamie archer from London. Jamie’s performance when't down well with the locals including 14 year old Jenny benton from Newton hall who said "I wanted to come and see Jamie more than the fireworks, I really liked his performances on the x factor".
Entry fee to this year’s event was only £3 and under 5's are free, Proceeds will go to local charities and reinvestment back into next years event to make it bigger and better.
The bonfire started at 7.30pm and the fireworks display followed at 8pm, £20,000 was spent on this years fireworks display alone.
Organisers and police encouraged people to attend this years event instead of DIY home events.
